About Us
Thanks for visiting the Tecxl web site, now home to "Crazy Ol' Man Artwork".
Tecxl began back in 2004 as Lex retired from the City of Tulsa and began work developing a communications technician training program. The name came from the catch-phrase "Technical Excellence" - our goal for those operating, managing, and planning public safety radio and communications systems. Shortly after that Lex became the Bureau Chief for the State of Idaho Bureau of Communications. This and subsequent consulting work pretty much put technical training efforts on hold.
Now that he has retired Lex has focused on putting a life-long love of photography to work. The Tecxl web pages now are home to his various photographic products and services. These include custom framed photography, mostly of the amazing scenes found around Idaho and the northwest United States. There are also annual calendars, note cards, and other unique pieces of photo art. As time and materials permit there will also be some crafts available.

We are also offering some services to others interested in preserving or selling their photographic artwork. This includes scanning film stock (negative or positive - from 110 film up to 8x10)plus the consignment selling of photographs for other local photographers.
Beyond photography we also offer custom web-site development (which of course can include licensing to use some of our local photography).
Finally we are working on reviving some of the original Tecxl technical excellence projects, including the development of a comprehensive textbook on public safety communications technology. Those efforts include providing radio-technology and communications center consulting.
Please use the contact us pages to ask questions, request products, or just comment on the services.
As a final note, I'd like to acknowledge the fine work of some former colleagues. The caricatures of Lex were made back in the '70's while working in television broadcast. The drawing on the home page (and at the top here) was from 1974 as Lex left Shreveport, LA and the other (lower right here) in 1976 when moving from Austin, MN. Each was part of a farewell card/pack and drawn by the station artist. I have kept them over the years and treasured them.
Thanks,
Lex Rutter
